Personal Care

Dignified, respectful personal care support

Personal care is one of the most sensitive areas of disability support. It involves helping with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and other aspects of hygiene. These tasks require trust, respect, and professionalism that goes beyond technical competence.

At Aamoon Care, personal care support is delivered by workers who have been specifically trained in providing intimate care with dignity. Every participant is treated as the authority on their own body and their own preferences.

What personal care includes

Our service covers assistance with showering and bathing, toileting support, oral hygiene, skin care, hair care and grooming, dressing and undressing, continence management, menstrual care, and any other hygiene related task where you need hands on help.

We also support participants with complex needs, including those who use mobility aids, hoists, or other equipment during personal care. Our workers are trained in manual handling and safe use of assistive equipment.

How we approach personal care

The non negotiable principle is dignity. Before any personal care begins, we have a detailed conversation about how you want things done. Do you prefer a male or female support worker? Do you want the door closed or partially open? Is there a particular order that works best for you? These preferences are documented and followed.

Our workers knock before entering bathrooms. They explain what they are about to do before doing it. They maintain appropriate conversation and do not discuss your care with other people.

NDIS funding for personal care

Personal care is funded under Core Supports in your NDIS plan, within the Assistance with Daily Life category. Rates vary depending on the time of day, day of the week, and the complexity of care required. Our team will provide a clear breakdown of costs before services begin.
