Good nutrition matters. But when cooking is difficult, painful, or unsafe, a lot of people end up relying on takeaway, pre packaged meals, or skipping meals. Not because they want to, but because preparing food has become one more barrier.
Aamoon Care provides NDIS funded meal preparation support. Whether you need someone to cook for you, someone to cook with you, or help learning to cook independently, we build the service around your needs, dietary requirements, and preferences.
Our service covers menu planning, grocery shopping, food storage, full meal preparation and cooking, assisted cooking where you participate, clean up, bulk meal prepping, and food safety monitoring.
Cultural and religious food preferences are fully respected. Halal, kosher, vegetarian, vegan, and any other dietary practice will be followed by your support worker.
For participants who want to develop cooking abilities, our workers take a teaching approach. Starting with simple recipes and basic kitchen skills, then progressing to more complex meals as confidence grows. This is particularly useful for younger participants transitioning toward independent living.
Meal preparation support is funded under Core Supports in your NDIS plan, under Assistance with Daily Life. Contact our team to discuss how this service fits with your plan and budget.
NDIS funding covers meal preparation for the participant. If preparing a meal that serves the whole family is practical and the primary purpose is supporting the participant, this is generally fine. Your coordinator can clarify boundaries.
We take allergies seriously. Your allergy information is documented in your care plan, and your support worker is briefed on all allergens before preparing any food. We use clear labelling and separation practices.
Yes. Many participants combine meal preparation with household tasks, personal care, or other daily living supports in a single visit.
