Group activities and day centre programs offer a structured, social environment where you can participate in activities with other people, build friendships, and develop skills. Not everyone wants one on one support every time, and group programs offer something different: the chance to be around others in a consistent, supported way.
Our programs include arts and crafts, cooking and baking, music, fitness and movement, gardening, games, technology skills, literacy and numeracy, group community outings, entertainment sessions, health and wellbeing workshops, and social interaction groups.
Programs cater to different interests and ability levels. Sessions typically last three to six hours.
Group programs offer something individual support does not: the chance to be around other people consistently. You see the same faces, build familiarity, and develop friendships at your own pace. They also provide stimulation, routine, and regular respite hours for families.
Funded under Core Supports, under Assistance with Social and Community Participation. Group programs are generally charged at a lower hourly rate than one on one support because the cost is shared. This makes group programs cost effective for regular social and recreational activities.
Typical group sizes range from four to ten participants, with one or more facilitators depending on the needs of the group.
Yes. While sessions have planned activities, participation is always voluntary. Staff can offer alternatives if something does not appeal to you.
Transport arrangements depend on your NDIS plan. Some participants use NDIS funded transport. Others arrange their own or are dropped off by family. We can help you work out the best option.
